Great atmosphere, cute location, good service! Sit outside and watch as people go by. Our server really took his time with us explaining all the wonderful specials they had planned for the evening. Crab cakes are delicious and the shrimp and grits are always good. This is a restaurant that is going to consistently hit the mark.
Fun night with friends and colleagues. It's definitely a party spot and noisy but that's what you're looking for when you come here, right? Close to the beach action with great food and many drink options, you can't go wrong here to experience the JAX life.
We love North Beach Fish Camp and have been coming ever since we moved here in 2018. The service is always amazing and the food is always consistent. We always take guests visiting from out of town. We haven't been in a little while, but we ended up going for our anniversary last night. The manager (Rob) sat us, and we got to talking because we always see him as a customer at another restaurant we frequent and got to talking. As busy as they were he made us feel like we were the only patrons. He went above and beyond, just like the servers always do. We will definitely be adding this back into our frequent restaurant rotation. Thanks for the great service!!
We did a kid free day date and wanted to try somewhere new. We decided to go to the town center at Neptune to see the beach and eat. The food and service was phrnomenal and was all we expected and more. We had gator tail and raw oysters to start and both were fresh and flavorful. We both had two of the daily Specials and also tried the scallop ceviche. We ended the meal with the white chocolate cranberry bread pudding and let me tell you this was the best. We would go back just for this. The cod and mahi special were amazing and the flavors complimented each other well. Our only complaint was the blackened spice was a little heavy and alone it was heavy in the salt but with all the other parts of the dish it worked well. We can't wait to go back to try more.
Truly blown away! If you're a seafood lover and a local or visiting the Jacksonville area, you must visit North Beach Fish Camp! Reservations fill up quickly, and we were behind on booking so it was an hour wait when we walked up to put our name in for a table, but the experience and food was worth every second of the wait. Since we had some time to kill, we chose to start with drinks and apps at a nearby restaurant that didn't have a wait at all. However, we knew we wanted to save room for a meal at Fish Camp. We decided to share the Low Boil for Two, and let me tell you... it was more than enough food for two! Truly some of the best seafood I've had in a long time. It came with a platter of Shrimp, Clams, Andouille, Corn, Broccoli, Mushrooms, Onions, and Snow Crab. Definitely recommend ordering this dish for anyone looking to get a taste of everything they have to offer. Cooked to absolute perfection, and the spice level was just right. Our outdoor table was perfect for the evening and a late meal, but they offer a ton of seating indoors as well. Service was excellent, and it seemed like the whole staff works together to check on all the tables and clear off plates and glasses that are just taking up space. Loved my visit here and hope to make it back again in the near future!
We visit all the Groshel owned restaurants ( Southern Hospitality Group) and honestly we should have stock shares as we are there so often. But we do love them! Fresh seafood of all kinds! I would recommend reservations. Hubby and I stopped by last Sunday after a day of shopping at the Town Center. The food is always good, the atmosphere is good, but we constantly have to tell them we don't want this one really bad server. They have told me they get so many complaints on him but he's still there. It is a hassle to have to dodge him every time. Get rid of that guy! But other than that, it's a great place to eat and drink! Enjoy!
The service was friendly and attentive. The food was good but a little bland; the gator bites were a highlight. We ordered: 1. Gator tail (5/5)- crisp, lightly fried, not chewy 2. Scallop ceviche (4/5)- I enjoyed it mainly bc I love ceviche but my husband wasn't a huge fan 3. Blackened mahi (4/5), tomatoes and okra (5/5), fries (3/5)- the mahi had a bit of spice to it but not much flavor and the fries are actually potato wedges and were kinda dry. 4. Fish special with orange sauce, green beans, and potatoes (3/5)- it sounded great when described but was pretty bland. 5. Sweet & Salty Chocolate Torte (4/5)- totally recommend adding a scoop of ice cream. We sat outside, which was nice people-watching, but I'm not sure what it's like inside. It seemed pretty crowded and lively though. We made a reservation for a weekend (MDW) and definitely seemed like we needed to.
5 stars for entrees and service (and splitting checks for a big party). 3.5 stars for appetizers. We had a reservation for 7 pm for a party of 13 on Friday, 3/29/24. Free valet parking a short walk away. Our table was ready on time and we were seated right away! Great for big parties! The appetizers were pretty basic, but the entrees were great. Here's what I had: - Smoked Fish Spread ($9): Tasted like the whitefish salad from Costco. - Spicy Pimento Cheese Spread ($8): Tasted like the pimento cheese from Costco. - Crispy Artichoke Hearts ($9): Good! - Grilled Salmon ($28): Delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly. The spinach and potatoes were good too! Highly recommend! For drinks, I got the Hot Mama ($11) and Cucumber Basil Gimlet ($12). Both were very good! So reasonably priced! Great service! Everyone enjoyed their entrees. We also got some very tasty dessert! The best part of all was that they were able to do individual checks. We asked beforehand and they were more than willing to accommodate us! I would definitely go back, especially with a big party.
The grilled salmon blt sandwich was the bomb diggity. Who knew bacon goes with salmon? Now, I do. We also ordered the conch fritters which were delicious! Our server, Gina, was friendly and efficient.
